How You Can Spark a Regenerative Community

Imagine it’s the year 2050. 90% of the Earth’s once fertile soils are degraded. The global population is nearing 10 billion, and two-thirds of them are facing water shortages. It isn’t pretty, but if we continue the way we have been for the past several decades, this is the world we’re facing.

What if we told you it doesn’t have to be this way?

That there is a way to stop our soils from degrading. That together, responsible, global citizens can spark a regenerative movement and create a safe, healthy space for the future - one thriving community at a time.

This blog tells you how.

What is a Community?

You might wonder why we are asking this question. We want to define what we see as community.

If we ask you, “do you know your neighbors?” Or, “would you know who to ask for help if you need it?” Or “do you know where your food comes from (that isn’t a grocery store)?” - Would you have an answer?

Most people wouldn’t.

This is why we believe that we need to reestablish what a community is.  To us it means being connected to the world around you. That means choosing local food, mixing of young and old, knowing your neighbors, and knowing your farmers’ names.

A community is also a place where everyone participates. We all have special skills to share. In a community, a person’s unique skills are valued and utilized.

What is a Thriving Community?

A thriving community is one that has a direct connection with its local environment, and honors the complex web of life of which all living and nonliving entities are a part. It prioritizes the well-being of the local ecosystem, the people, and the planet by giving the Earth a seat at the table.

A thriving community imbeds hands-on eco-literacy into their education system, and teaches young folks to honor indigenous agricultural practices that use restorative methods to improve soil health and minimize carbon emissions.

At Fearless Farmers, our mission is to help 1000 local communities become thriving regenerative hubs by 2030. We do this through our eco-literacy program that helps communities harness their collective knowledge and experience that utilize regenerative farms and ranches as place-based education enterprises.

Our program helps create communities that flourish under the interconnectedness of the life long learner, educator, and farmer working together to inspire the youth and their families towards a regenerative lifestyle. It brings additional revenue streams and customers to farms while building knowledge among the community about food, ecology, nature, and the climate.

What Does it Take to Spark a Thriving Community?

If history has shown us anything, it’s that one person with a powerful idea and an action plan can spark a transformative change - but one person does not make a community. Collaboration with like-minded individuals, mentor support, and community-led action are necessary to keep the flame burning.

At Fearless Farmers, we bring together farmers, educators, and eco-conscious leaders who want to introduce their communities to educational regeneration.

Here’s what it takes for a community to be part of the Fearless Farmers Regenerative Movement:

Fearless Farmers Community Spark

These communities are taking the first steps for their thriving community with our eco-literacy program. They have at least two Fearless Educators, one Certified Farmer, and one Eco-Literacy credentialed community activator. These communities receive continuous mentorship and guidance through quarterly check-ins by our support personnel to help them scale into full-fledged regenerative communities.

Fearless Farmers Regenerative Community

To be designated as a Regenerative Community, a community should have social proof of activities that incorporate regenerative principles as outlined in our curriculum. These activities should be consistently practiced for at least 12 months. This community receives semi-annual mentoring check-ins from the Fearless Farmers support personnel to provide necessary inputs for sustaining the momentum.

Start Your Action Plan Today

It's up to us to provide the change needed for our children to have a livable future. We have to lead by teaching and demonstrating.

If you feel inspired to spark your own community into action, we invite you to explore our flagship eco-literacy program. This immersive, holistic, and interactive course is designed to empower eco-enthusiasts like you to bring regenerative practices to your community in ways that feel authentic to you.

Begin your journey with our introductory offering, Grounding Down. It sets the stage for a transformative journey of connection, introducing you to a community, and guiding you to uncover how you will spark change. Prior to participating in one of the program pathways, every learner must complete this intro.

Our program transforms our participants into credentialed eco-literacy representatives, capable of teaching our adaptable curriculum, sparking their own thriving communities, and steering the world towards a better, more sustainable future.

There are three pathways to create an effective and ideal learning environment for you, all of which share eight core sessions.

The Ambassador Pathway equips folks with a basic understanding of regenerative agriculture with an action plan and tools to inspire change in your community using eco-literacy.

The Farmer Pathway supports farmers in business development to unlock revenue streams by offering educational tourism on your farm.

The Educator Pathway offers formal and informal educators the confidence to incorporate hands-on eco-literacy into their classroom.

The biggest of movements begin with one person willing to bring change. If you feel called upon to be the person to spark your thriving community, join us.
